Do you have a slightly wet piece of ground? Try American Burnet (Sanguisorba canadensis)! This is an under-appreciated native perennial plant that is getting attention due to its inclusion in the Lurie Garden in Chicago. It is a fall bloomer that is still sporting its spikes of white fuzzy flowers in mid-October. The bloom season starts in midsummer and ends in mid-autumn.
