In my last post I ended with Japanese Forest Grass and Blue Flowers - here it is continued and with more recommnded combinations!

Japanese Forest Grass and Blue Flowers, cont.

         Another blue flower that combines well with Japanese forest grass is the upright perennial, ‘Caradonna’ meadow sage (Salvia nemerosa ‘Caradonna’). Its dense spike flowers grow 24 inches tall with dark purple stems that are strongly vertical. It is deer and rabbit resistant and attracts hummingbirds, honey bees and butterflies to the garden. A heat and sun lover.

'Caradonna' salvia is an upright perennial that blooms for many weeks beginning in late spring. It thrives with minimal care in a wide range of soils. Hardy in USDA Zones 4-8.
