Every May I am busy developing annual flower lists and planting up beautiful flower borders for my dear clients. I want to recommend a few of these amazing flowers with you so you can try a few out. I do not start from seed but buy little plants.

The captions to the photos describe the annual flower. Have fun! Mix and Match!

Tip - Make sure to amend and turn over the soil and rake the flower border bed before you buy any flowers.

SUN

Angelonia Angelface Blue

Angelonia ‘Angelface Blue’ - Bluish purple blooms appear in abundant spire-like blooms on a somewhat compact and upright habit. This plant loves the heat and sun! Deer Resistant. Zones 1-10. I planted it here with All Gold Japanese Forest grass - deer resistant.

Angelonia Serena White

Supertunia 'Saffron Finch'

Gomphrena Strawberry Fields

Gomphrena globosa 'Strawberry Fields,' sports neat cones of a deep, clear red on straight stems that reach 24” high.  A popular choice for the cutting garden because the 1″ blooms dry perfectly, retaining their color for months or even years. Plants thrive in heat and drought. Makes a good filler with other sun-loving annuals. Deer resistant. Photo by Laura McKillop.
