Among the many sights to see in the Hudson Valley, Boscobel stands out for its grand building and historic heritage, its gardens, its amazing views, and its wonderful hiking trails down to the Hudson River.
You can take the Metronorth train up from NY’s Grand Central Station and get off at Garrison or Cold Spring. From there take the quaint trolley that will drop you off at Boscobel. They charge admission.
From there, tour the historic house and grounds - the orchard, the amazing herb garden and orangery:
Marvel at the view and have a picnic:
Afterward, take a mile hike on their ‘Woodland Trail’. It is well marked and has informative signs along the way describing the history of the area.
Boscobel is on the Garden Design Day Trip Tour of Lower Hudson Valley Gardens - check it out!
