Absolutely wondrous in its rustic simplicity. Any thoughts on the in-between-the-stone-areas as to composition of material and upkeep—hard clay and vigilance or ???

ha ha - hard clay and vigilance. Sounds like a country song title - I love it! That is probably the easiest. I have planted creeping thyme and it turned into a mess only becuase it was not really meant to be a planted walk. I use polymeric sand in narrow joints..

Maybe Hard Clay and Vigilantes?.?. Or maybe not.

I have never had luck with intentional plantings of creeping thyme in my old flagstone walk. But I’ll probably try again.
